Don’t get me wrong, I love making breakfast. I mean, I run a blog about making breakfast. Still, though, a girl’s gotta have a break sometimes. So, for any Austinites that love good food but aren’t in the mood to make it, I’m introducing Breakfast Not By Lisa, a series of posts about good eats that I didn’t cook.
It seems only right that I start with my definite favorite place to get breakfast-y food and maybe my favorite restaurant in general: Kerbey Lane Cafe. I honestly love everything about that place–the original location on Kerbey Lane is cute but roomy with a nice atmosphere and really good food. I live for their pancakes.
See? They have cute signery. The building used to be an actual house since it’s in a residential area, which I think adds to the charm.
I order the same thing every time I go: fresh squeezed lemonade, a short stack of pancakes with one blueberry and one buttermilk with a cinnamon swirl, plus a side of homefries. The homefries are mainly necessary just to balance out the sweetness of everything else–the pancakes are the stars of the show.
One of my absolute favorite things to do with friends is to go out for brunch at Kerbey or elsewhere. If anyone knows of any top quality breakfast restaurants in Austin, please comment below!
